Who we are
MAGICTERRAIN FOUNDATION is a Section 8 non-profit working with rural and tribal communities across West Bengal, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. From seed to bloom.
Why we exist
The migration of 2020–21 emptied our villages. We exist so that dignity, livelihood and learning are found where people already live.
How we work
The Solar System Approach. At the centre sits Vana-Varsity, our sun — the knowledge core every programme draws from. Around it orbit eight verticals, each returning its learning to the centre.

The living archive
Vana-Varsity
A public knowledge archive where community knowledge, indigenous knowledge systems, field documentation and open learning are held together — and given back.
Everything MTF records in the field — seeds, foods, crafts, practices, songs, methods — is documented with the community and opened to anyone who wants to learn from it, in the community's own language wherever possible.
The centre of knowledge
Bodh Kendra
Bodh means knowledge, Kendra means centre. A Bodh Kendra brings learning, enterprise, archive and ecology under one roof — so that skill leads to income, and income stays rooted in the community's own knowledge.
